Jean-Pierre Méan, a senior Swiss lawyer, was elected to the CAUX-Initiatives of Change Foundation at the Council’s meeting in Geneva at the end of November.
“Trust and Integrity for a Sustainable World” is the motto of the five international conferences that will take place from 9 July to 15 August 2009 in the Initiatives of Change conference centre in Caux.
The Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy (TIGE) conference 2009 in Caux is taking place from 24 to 29 July 2009. In their first conference announcement, the organisers say:
A new website, which includes the 2008 Report, statement and speeches plus the latest on the 2009 Forum, has been launched following the first Caux Forum for Human Security (CFHS) being initiated in July 2008 by Mohamed Sahnoun. It brought together 300 peacemakers from 52 countries. They included those working at the 'grassroots' and leaders in their respective fields.
Mohamed Sahnoun, President of Initiatives of Change International, was the keynote speaker on 1 October for a national ‘prayer lunch’ in the Swiss Federal Capital, Bern, presided over by the Swiss President, Pascal Couchepin.
The small mountain village of Caux was awash in people this weekend for the European Heritage Days (13-14 September). The Initiatives of Change conference centre in Caux was the star site for the canton of Vaud, on this year’s theme ‘places of delight’, and an estimated 5’600 visitors poured through the house during the two days.
