‘We lost sight of our values - with an “s” - in the rigorous focus on financial value,’ said Lady Susan Rice, the Managing Director of Lloyds Banking Group in Scotland, speaking today at a conference in Switzerland on ‘trust and integrity’. Rice is the first woman in Britain to head a national clearing bank, and Lloyds is now the largest banking group within the UK. Rice was speaking on ‘restoring trust in banking and financial services’ at the ‘Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy’ conference at the Initiatives of Change centre in Caux, Switzerland.

Learning to live in a multicultural world conference at Caux this year saw the participants explore how to have honest conversations and share best practises in uniting communities across divides. This video follows a small group of participants through their thought processes.

A high-level South Sudanese delegation, brought to Caux in collaboration with the Swiss Foreign Ministry, led a ceremony celebrating the first anniversary of the independence of their country. In his speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Elias Nyamell Wakoson asserted that South Sudan 'is not out of the woods yet, but we are getting there.'
