The 4th Learning to live in a multicultural world conference was held from 1 to 6 July 2012
Participants came from all over Europe and beyond, representing diverse countries and diasporas. Panels, formal and informal discussions, workshops and case studies focus on tapping civil society's potential in facilitating the change of attitude towards diversity.

Michelle Bachelet, head of UN Women, addresses the Fifth Annual Caux Forum for Human Security on the topic of Responsibility to Protect, human security and the role of women and children. Her message was played as part of a Plenary Session on the role of intercultural dialogue in promoting understanding and respect across cultures.

On Sunday 8 July 2012, Initiatives of Change opened wide the doors of the Caux Conference Centre. Participants and guests had the opportunity to listen to a speech by Micheline Calmy-Rey, two-time former Swiss President and now university professor, and Swiss Ambassador Claude Altermatt. This was followed by the official opening of the Fifth Annual Caux Forum for Human Security by Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun.

Learning to live in a multicultural world is a conference held by Initiatives of Change which seeks to find a better vision for a more cohesive Europe through personal change. To build bridges you need to examine your own reasons for not wanting to cross them.
